Seven   R-A-D-I-C-A-L   Steps

To escape the snare of the occult, there are certain steps that must be taken. These steps do not necessarily have to be taken in the order listed below. However, each step must be taken if the ensnared person is to escape the deadly grip of occult involvement.

R - Renounce Allegiance To The Occult.

1. The person in the occult has made certain Commitments and Vows in order to become part of the occult group or in order to receive occult powers.

2. To break free he must Renounce Those Commitments And Vows --- it is Never Wrong to Repent of and Renounce an evil vow --- It Is God's Will for you.

3. II Corinthians 4:2-5, "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."

4. Matthew 25:41, "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"

5. John 12:31, "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

A - Acquire New Relationships.

1. The person who wishes to escape the occult snare must also Acquire A New Support Group.

2. It is essential that the person find people who will be supportive of him in his struggle.

a. Seek Christian counseling.

b. Fellowship with the people of God.

c. Join a prayer group.

3. Psalms 1:1-3, "Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

4. I Corinthians 15:33, "Be not deceived: evil communications (company, association, fellowship) corrupt good manners."

D - Destroy All Occult Objects.

1. It is necessary to remove those things that Influenced the person in the occult.

2. The things will include music, movies, magazines, and games with occult themes.

3. It will include occult literature and manuals, as well as any implements used in ceremonies or rituals.

4. All other Reminders of the occult.

5. Acts 19:18-20, "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all [men]: and they counted the price of them, and found [it] fifty thousand [pieces] of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed."

6. Exodus 20:4, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:"

7. Leviticus 26:1, "Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up [any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I [am] the LORD your God."

8. Deuteronomy 7:25, "The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold [that is] on them, nor take [it] unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it [is] an abomination to the LORD thy God."

9. Isaiah 42:8, "I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

I - Initiate Spiritual Wellness And Growth In Your Life.

1. The person involved in the occult is involved in a Spiritual Struggle as well as a Mental and Emotional one.

2. He must seek Spiritual Wellness --- he must come to Christ and receive Christ as Lord and Savior.

3. Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

4. Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

5. John 3:3, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." --- V. 16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

6. John 6:37, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

7. Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

8. Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

9. Ephesians 6:10-18, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

C - Claim Your Own Values.

1. The values of the person involved in the occult have been changed to accept things contrary to that which was formerly acceptable.

2. He must claim those values he truly values to replace the occult.

3. Study the Word of God and claim its values for life.

4. Galatians 5:16-25, "[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

A - Accept God's Truths.

1. Recognize the fact that All People are Responsible and Accountable for their decisions.

2. Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" --- 6:23, "For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." --- 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." --- 13:14, "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof]."

3. Galatians 6:5-10, "For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

L - Leave All Occult Relationships.

1. Deuteronomy 18:9-12, "When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee."

2. II Corinthians 6:14-18, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
